Behind the Camera at Calleros Dental
Meet Gabby Martinez, Calleros Dental’s very own dental assistant and content creator
Over the past few months, Gabby has started helping us capture more of what happens here day to day—from before-and-afters to the small, in-between moments that make this work so meaningful. Lately, that’s evolved into more video, a little more personality, and yes… a few fun (and slightly silly) team moments along the way.
While many of you already know and love Gabby as one of our highly respected dental assistants, she’s recently taken on this creative role on the side—bringing a unique perspective that blends clinical knowledge with a natural eye for storytelling. It’s been a fun and unexpected extension of her role, and honestly, our patients adore her just as much on camera as they do chairside.
We thought it would be nice to introduce her in this new light and share a little behind the scenes.
A Quick Q&A with Gabby
CD: What’s been your favorite video you’ve created so far at Calleros Dental?
Gabby: I think all of them but one we haven't posted yet with all the girls - it's a game that involves a jar :)
CD: We’ve seen some fun (and slightly silly) team videos—how do you come up with those ideas?
Gabby: I get my ideas from my co workers and doctor, sometimes from other Instagram or Tik Tok videos that we can relate to, and some ideas just from me, as well.
CD: What kind of feedback have you heard from patients about the videos?
Gabby: Not a lot honestly. We do it for our own entertainment but I am thinking of bringing in some of our patients that are willing to be on film with their consent of course.
CD: How do you help team members feel comfortable being on camera, especially for more playful content?
Gabby: I will usually tell them my idea first and ask if they would like to be in the video, I will also tell them we can film the next day in case they want to get "camera ready" so they can feel their most confident while filming.
CD: What’s something people might not realize about filming in a dental office?
Gabby: That it is actually pretty easy to film - once you start playing around with the editing tools, Instagram has a pretty easy editing tool that's mostly easy to use!
CD: Do you have a favorite “behind-the-scenes” moment that didn’t make it into a post?
Gabby: When Lindsay kept making me laugh so hard from her acting , we should have put some bloopers in there.
CD: As someone with a background in dental assisting, how does this creative work compare to your clinical role?
Gabby: It's very different in a good way, we can be more playful and have fun with things. Things are also more lackadaisical.
CD: What do you enjoy about doing this on the side?
Gabby: I enjoy that we can express our creative side a little bit more. Dentistry is a little bit more serious so this is always fun when we have some free time.
CD: If someone wants to take a better video of their own smile, what’s one easy tip you’d share?
Gabby: Lighting - it's everything. Relaxing your shoulders in photos, raising your tongue to the roof of your mouth helps too.
