Reflections + What I’m Bringing Back to My Patients
I recently spent an immersive two days at the Apa Aesthetic Symposium, bringing together clinicians, innovators, and leaders who all share the same commitment to excellence in dentistry. It was one of those experiences that reminds me why I still love what I do after 39 years in dentistry (Go Bruins, Class of 1987!).
I truly believe that continuing education isn’t just a requirement. It’s a responsibility. Not a checkbox, but a commitment to always learning, refining, and showing up better for my patients.
Being surrounded by dentists who are so passionate about their craft always pushes me to keep growing, and I’m bringing that energy right back into the office.
For my patients, that means continuing to refine how I approach cosmetic dentistry so your results feel natural, balanced, and truly you. It also means continuing to collaborate closely with world renowned master ceramist Paulo Battistella, whose lab is right here in El Segundo, just steps from my practice. Having that level of artistry and communication nearby allows us to truly customize each smile at the highest level.
Here are a few things that really stood out to me:
• Less is more
The most beautiful smiles often come from being as conservative as possible and preserving what is naturally yours.
• Your smile should fit your face, not a template
Every smile I design is unique, because every patient is.
• We do not rush the process
Temporaries give us the chance to fine tune everything so you feel confident before we finalize anything.
• It is the little details that make the biggest difference
Shape, texture, and softness are what make a smile look natural, not overdone.
• The materials we choose matter
They affect not just how your smile looks, but how long it lasts.
• Technology helps, but it is the experience behind it that counts
Digital tools are powerful, but knowing how to use them thoughtfully is what truly elevates results.
• A beautiful smile also has to feel good
Comfort, function, and long term health are always part of my plan.
What I love most is being able to take what I learn at meetings like this and bring it back to my patients here in the South Bay. We are grateful to our community. Thank you for trusting us with your dental care!
Always learning. Always improving. And always focused on creating smiles that feel as good as they look.
