What Are Porcelain Veneers?

Porcelain veneers are ultra-thin, durable shells of ceramic material that are crafted to match the shape, size, and color of your natural teeth. They are bonded to the front surfaces of your teeth to improve appearance, strengthen structure, and create a more uniform, radiant smile. While veneers are strong and long-lasting, like any dental restoration, they may eventually require replacement after many years of wear.

We proudly work with world-renowned master ceramist Paulo Battistella of Code White Boutique Lab and feel lucky that he is right here in downtown El Segundo, just steps from our practice.

Why Choose Porcelain Veneers?

Veneers are a versatile solution for addressing a variety of dental concerns, including:

  • Correcting crooked or misshapen teeth

  • Brightening severely stained or discolored teeth

  • Reshaping teeth that appear too small or too large

  • Closing gaps or unwanted spaces between teeth

  • Repairing worn, chipped, or damaged teeth

  • Creating a whiter, more even, and youthful-looking smile

Whether you're looking for a subtle enhancement or a complete smile makeover, porcelain veneers offer stunning, natural-looking results.

What to Expect During the Veneer Process

Getting porcelain veneers typically involves three appointments:

1. Initial Assessment & Consultation

  • Assessment:
We begin with a full consultation to understand your goals and evaluate your oral health. We scan your teeth and send it to world-class porcelain master ceramicist Paulo Battistella of Code White Boutique Lab. We then bring you with us to meet with Paulo in-person at his lab in El Segundo to discuss your vision for your smile. Paulo takes into account your vision, personality, coloring, lifestyle and facial structure to craft a unique, beautiful smile. Our goal is produce the most natural-looking veneers to make you feel confident and your smile radiant. We will then fabricate a diagnostic wax-up, based on this vision.

2. Preparation & Impressions

  • Preparation:
We will prepare your teeth and you will leave with beautiful temporaries that you’ll wear for 2 weeks.

3. Placement & Bonding

  • Bonding:
The teeth are thoroughly cleaned and prepared, then the veneers are bonded using a strong dental adhesive.
A special curing light hardens the bond, securing the veneers in place for a long-lasting result

  • Caring for your new smile:

A custom night guard may be recommended to protect your porcelain veneers.

Caring for Your New Smile

With proper care, porcelain veneers can keep your smile looking stunning for many years. To maintain your results, we recommend:

  • Brushing and flossing daily with non-abrasive products

  • Scheduling regular professional cleanings and exams

  • Avoiding habits like nail-biting or using your teeth as tools

  • A custom nightguard may be recommended to protect your porcelain veneers.

Our team will provide you with complete care instructions to help you protect your investment in your new smile.
