Snoring & Sleep Apnea

If you or a loved one struggles with snoring or restless nights, it may be more than just an inconvenience—it could be a sign of a serious health concern. Snoring and sleep apnea aren't just disruptive to your sleep; they can impact your overall health, contributing to issues like high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, and daytime fatigue.

At Calleros Dental, we believe that a good night's sleep is essential to living a healthy, vibrant life. That’s why we offer support for patients who experience signs of sleep-disordered breathing. Our experienced team is trained to recognize common oral indicators of sleep apnea, such as tongue-ties, underdeveloped jaws and airways, enlarged tissues, and signs of teeth grinding, which often point to nighttime airway issues.

How Calleros Dental Helps with Snoring and Sleep Apnea:

✅ Screening and Identifying Signs of Sleep-Disordered Breathing

During regular dental exams, our team looks for oral signs that may indicate sleep apnea or airway issues, such as worn teeth (from grinding), enlarged tongue or tonsils, narrow airway, or underdeveloped jaws and airway problems.

✅Myofunctional therapy

Myofunctional therapy helps improve breathing and overall health by teaching the tongue and facial muscles to work the right way, supporting a healthier airway.

✅Frenectomies and Frenuloplasties

These procedures release tight tissue under the tongue or lip to improve oral function and support healthier breathing and airway development.

✅ Offering At-Home Sleep Studies

Instead of sending patients to a traditional sleep lab, we provide our patients with at-home sleep study technology. That way our patients can comfortably complete a sleep study in their own bed, making it easier and less intimidating to get tested for sleep apnea. Click on the video to learn more about these. ✅ Custom Oral Appliance Therapy

For patients diagnosed with mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea or troublesome snoring,

we offer custom-fitted dental appliances (also called oral sleep devices or mandibular advancement devices).

These appliances gently reposition the jaw forward during sleep, helping keep the airway open and reducing apnea events and snoring without the need for a CPAP machine.

✅ Partnering with Physicians

If necessary, our team collaborates with sleep physicians and primary care doctors to ensure patients receive a formal diagnosis and comprehensive care plan. Oral appliance therapy is often recommended as an alternative or complement to CPAP therapy.

✅ Education and Counseling

We educate patients about the link between oral health and airway health, helping our patients understand how important sleep is for overall wellness. We also guide patients on lifestyle changes that may complement your treatment, such as weight management and sleep hygiene tips.

At Calleros Dental, we are proud to offer a whole-health approach to dentistry, and that includes helping you breathe, sleep, and live better. If you or a loved one suspects a sleep issue, don’t wait—your smile and your health depend on it.
